Personal Project

Daily Waves (Weaving)

Woven on a backstrap loom, this week-long project was a practice in iteration and routine. From top to bottom, each beaded pattern and following solid section correlates to one day of the week. As one of my first activities upon waking up each morning, I would design a wave-shaped beading pattern. Around mid-day, I would weave the beads into the piece and a solid part of variable length, depending on my attention span and schedule. The complexity of the beaded pattern and size of the solid section each day were a reflection of my daily mental state.
